Fact Sheet: Resist Web Site
What:

Resist is a free web-based multimedia learning tool to help teens cope in the wake of the terrorist attack. It uses real stories, skill training, and interactive activities, to develop skills for managing feelings, promoting tolerance, and understanding patriotism.

Why:

To reduce chances youth will respond to the attack by scapegoating, hating, and stifling the dissent of others, and by using drugs or alcohol to anesthetize what they are feeling. Resist helps build a few key skills that can dramatically affect kids' lives.

How: The site is based on Ripple Effects award-winning, research-based multimedia learning system, shown through research to dramatically improve social behavior. This system weaves together a flexible, multi-layered approach to learning, with engaging, media-rich content, and effective strategies for shaping social behavior.
Who: Ripple Effects, Inc. helps schools and other youth-serving organizations improve social behavior, promote healthy development, and increase chances for academic and life success, through its scaleable social learning software programs.
When: Resist launched September 26th, and is now available free of charge at www.rippleeffects.com/resist/teens. More topics will be added in the coming weeks.
