People who commit hate crimes often fool themselves into thinking they're righting a wrong. Like if they beat up on an Arab, they're getting revenge for the country. But hurting people because of some category that describes them - like religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or physical ability - is un-American, and downright stupid.
