A democracy doesn't work unless people participate in it. In totalitarian
states, all the decisions come from the top down, and people at the
bottom don't have any real power to influence things. But in the United
States, power is supposed to flow up from the people at the bottom,
through their representatives, to the top. When that happens, everyone
has a voice. |
