Loyalty is standing by someone or some principal, even when it's difficult or uncomfortable.

For some people loyalty means defending a friend, or parent, or group, or community or country, no matter what they do. These are the people who say, "My kid (or friend, or country), right or wrong." It's the relationship they're most loyal to.
